What to bring to a class
Wear something comfortable/loose and easy to move in that makes you feel good.
Mats and equipment are supplied in your yoga class. You can bring a drink of water and some socks and a jumper or blanket for the relaxation. Bring any further props/pillows you like to use along to the class if you desire. Let the teacher know if you have any serious ailments. Please ensure your mobile phone is switched off - thankyou.
Yoga and Pilates are NON COMPETETIVE - this encourages us to withhold judgment on ourselves and others. Self responsibility at all times - the yoga teacher can advise and see what you are doing but they cannot feel what you are feeling hence responsibility to care for their own wellbeing and physical state. Furthermore, it is vital that although given instruction you work at your own pace and within your own limits. We are all entirely different. We all have various strengths, and areas to work on further. I would encourage you to take yourself as your 'subject of research' and invest your time in experimenting in varous ways to improve your own health and wellbeing.
Both Yoga and Pilates begin to work first on the physical body creating a more balanced state on the endocrine, nervous, muscular and skeletal systems. Increased awareness of physical self highlights the relationship between physical, mental and emotional elements of us. This assists in bringing balance and harmony to the body, mind and emotions.
